The lights, the stars, the modernistas! This red carpet affair will dazzle you as we debut our NEW event location at Modernism Week CAMP, located at a Class I Historic Site and architecturally significant building in downtown Palm Springs the former 1958 J.W. Robinson Department Store by Luckman & Pereira. This beautiful pavilion-style modernist building will be the dramatic backdrop for our glamorous soiree recalling the golden age of 1950s Hollywood in Palm Springs.
The amazing band, NUTTY will present a hard-swingin' retro/jazz show to keep you on your feet dancing all night! Return to a time when the Rat Pack held court at the Chi Chi, martinis were a staple and jazz clubs were the place to be. NUTTY weaves intricate interpretations of pop and rock classics onto a jazz canvas, using straight-ahead jazz, big band swing, crime/spy jazz, Latin, bebop and classic film and TV themes as the soundtrack.
Tonight, enjoy the luxury and festivity of the new Palm Springs with homage to its midcentury modern design heritage, a nod to its glamorous Hollywood legacy, and a lively celebration created for Modernism Week jetsetters from near and far. Enjoy handcrafted martinis and cocktails expertly prepared, splendid hors doeuvres and retro-inspired cuisine presented by Lulu California Bistro. Dont miss this smashing Opening Night extravaganza!
