If you want to experience a stunning variety of modernist interiors this tour is for you! The Canyon View Estates house tour will showcase at least 6 midcentury lifestyle condominium units designed by the architectural firm of Palmer & Krisel in 1962. The strong midcentury architecture of Canyon View Estates (which includes the exuberant use of patterned concrete screen block) is frequently featured in national and international design and fashion magazines. Your ticket allows you inside the architecture so you can see how deftly the architects double-gable roof lines bring mountain views and abundant natural light into the interiors. The ticket price includes a collectible tour map and a copy of the Palm Springs Preservation Foundations (PSPF) 40-page tribute journal The Architecture of Desert Leisure. A portion of the proceeds will help fund PSPF grants to the participating Canyon View Estates homeowners associations.
The Palm Springs Preservation Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and promote public awareness of the importance of preserving the historical resources and architecture of the city of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley area. PSPF offers free membership as a public benefit.
A tour map will be provided at check-in. 18 or older, no pets and no smoking please. Interior photography is at the discretion of individual homeowners. Restrooms are not available for use in the tour homes.
