Monet. Picasso. Matisse. Hockney. Colorful art brings us joy. YSL. Oscar. Isaac. Colorful clothing makes us smile. Why then, not architecture?

Peter Stamberg of Stamberg Aferiat + Associates, architects for The Saguaro Palm Springs Hotel, discusses the near extinction of color in contemporary architecture. Exploring the prevalence of color in the architecture of ancient world through early modernism, Stamberg discusses the history of color theory and the historic use of color in art and architecture and, most importantly, why color has become a stranger in all but a few examples of contemporary architecture and how architects could come to embrace color again.

In addition to street parking, there is a free public parking garage located one block from CAMP, at the corner of S. Indian Canyon Drive and W. Baristo Road.
