The West Elm House is an idea house created to inspire and guide architecture and design enthusiasts when it comes to the art of modernizing a midcentury home for the way we live today. Be among the first to experience the Midcentury to Next-Century Transformation of this iconic 1950s home by Palmer & Krisel.

West Elm, a branch ofWilliams Sonoma, has created its first Living Showroom right here in Palm Springs, by using its product line of organic, handcrafted, sustainably sourced and Fair Trade Certified sofas, tables, beds, lighting and accessories to furnish this classic Midcentury home (circa 1958) originally built by the legendary Alexander Construction Company and recently remodeled by Solterra Builders. This renovation celebrates how we can respect and honor the iconic architecture of the past while at the same time embracing life in the 21st Century.

If you are a fan of midcentury design and architecture, touring this completely renovated Alexander Home is not to be missed. Docents of the tour will include members of the West Elm Design Lab who will be on hand to answer questions about the textiles, furniture and accessories used in the home and how to get the look that transformed this simple home into the Palm Springs paradise that it is today. You will also have an opportunity to meet some of the local artisans who created the featured paintings and sculptures.

Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a hand holding adult. Tours begin on the half hour and there are a limited number of tickets available per tour session. Tickets are required. Tickets will be available at the door if the tour time is not sold out. Please expect to spend 30 to 40 minutes on property for the tour. There are no lavatory facilities available on site. No pets are allowed.
