DESCRIPTION
No one knows what they discussed. Nuclear physicists have hypothesized about it for years. What did Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg talk about when Heisenberg made his mysterious and dangerous visit to Bohr in German-occupied Copenhagen in 1941? Two brilliant minds. A friendship torn apart by war. One man would go on to help build the world's first atomic bomb, the other witness the annihilation of his homeland. Each, before his death, offered a different re-telling of that fateful conversation in Copenhagen. In Michael Frayn's riveting, prize-winning play, Bohr and Heisenberg re-visit the scene and, in an emotion-charged encounter, bridge the gaps of time, fear and love to put the debate to rest. Outcast International's production of “Copenhagen” is courageously brought to the stage by director Thom Capozzella and brilliantly performed by actors Peter Loftus as Niels Bohr, Leslie Reilly as Margrethe Bohr and Dug Bartell as Werner Heisenberg. Performances are Thursday through Saturday, February 9-11 at 7:30pm and Sunday, February 12 at 2pm at The Other Side, 2011 Genesee Street in Utica.
