DESCRIPTION

These guided tours of the historic house and grounds provide the first public access to Sunnylands. A limited number of visitors will experience the 1966 residence designed by A. Quincy Jones and restored over the last two years and will explore the 200-acre estate with its nine-hole golf course. The Sunnylands Center (designed by Frederick Fisher and Partners) and Gardens (designed by The Office of James Burnett) will be open to Modernism Week participants only. This new project with its interpretive exhibits opens to the public on March 1. Each tour will consist of seven participants with a guide. Shuttles will transport visitors from the Sunnylands Center and Gardens to the historic estate. Purchase of the $85 ticket includes a 90-minute guided historic house and grounds tour, a 30-minute tour of the Center and Gardens, as well as a copy of Sunnylands: Art and Architecture of the Annenberg Estate in Rancho Mirage, California, edited by David G. De Long.
