Event Description
The is the one! The Palm Springs Preservation Foundations Retro Martini Party fundraiser checks all the boxes: timeless architecture, perfect ambience and great company. This years special venue is the George & Marcia Barrett Residence (better known as the William Holden Residence) in the historic Deep Well neighborhood. Designed by master builder Joe Pawling (who constructed some of Wexler & Harrisons most admired designs), the residence is sited on four full lots with spectacular mountain views to the west. Built for the Barretts in 1955, the house was later purchased by actor William Holden who owned the property from 1966 until 1977. Holden is best remembered for his roles in Sunset Boulevard, Born Yesterday, Stalag 17 (for which he won an Oscar in 1954), The Bridge On the River Kwai, and Network. Relax poolside with your martini in hand and watch the southern California sun set behind the beautiful San Jacinto Mountains. For both gentlemen and ladies this is the event to show off your most sophisticated midcentury cocktail attire.

The Palm Springs Preservation Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate and promote public awareness of the importance of preserving the historical resources and architecture of the city of Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley area. PSPF offers free membership as a public benefit. To learn more about the work of the foundation see www.pspreservationfoundation.org.
